If someone yells at you, speak back softly.
Make the connection Sometimes a common interest can connect you to someone. Use your sense of humor as one of your strengths. This can help you seem more likeable.
Feel their pain Showing you can feel and understand someone else's feelings can be the key. Be a good listener and always respond. When they say read between the lines, they mean the space between the words. Hear what they say, with your heart and eyes also.
Be real Don't be a phony. Whatever you do, try to be genuine. People know when you are conning them. Be honest. That is how you can get to know someone. You don't have to be an open-book, but let someone see a little of what you like, dislike, are afraid of.
All these things can raise your likeablility factor. People you work with, people at home or whereever you go, will like you and want to be your friend and help you. You will be more successful.
